Business Need & Opportunity The Precision Strike (PS) engineering organization is undergoing an exciting transformation to strengthen alignment with key business initiatives, optimize our capabilities, and capitalize on the growing demand for Precision Guidance & Sensing Solutions.

This newly created Business Area Technical Director (BATD) role is a critical part of this evolution, driving technical vision and collaboration across our product lines - Navigation & Sensor Systems, Precision Guidance & Sensing Solutions, Global Integrated Solutions, and Advanced Display Systems. Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Director to develop and champion a technical strategy aligned with evolving customer needs and future market opportunities. The ideal candidate is a proven technical leader with in-depth domain knowledge, a strong customer focus, and the ability to foster collaboration across a complex matrixed organization. You will be a key interface with the Services, platform primes, and mission system integrators.

Familiarity with Department of War (DoW) requirements, acquisition processes, and experience with precision guided munitions, radar seeker, EOIR seeker military GPS, avionics, and helmet mounted display technology is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive technical roadmap integrating current programs with R&D initiatives, driving holistic technical direction and innovation.
* Cross-Business

Collaboration:

Enable business growth by collaborating effectively across business areas to leverage synergies and maximize enterprise impact.
* Technology Vision:
Drive technology innovation through the strategic alignment of Tech Strategy, IRAD, and Collaboration Activities to reduce product investment and introduce disruptive technologies.
* Customer Engagement:
Lead technical discussions with current and potential customers, developing impactful white papers and presentations to drive business growth.
* R&D Transition:
Collaborate with our Fast Labs organization to accelerate the transition of cutting-edge technologies into our products.
* Integrated Business Planning (IBP):
Support IBP objectives through leadership in leverage, technical strategy, IRAD process, technical collaboration, and IP portfolio management.
* Team Leadership & Development:
Coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent, building a robust pipeline for future success.
* External Partnerships: "Be the point" for collaborations with Universities, Institutes, SBIRs, VC, Tech Scouting, FAST Labs, Empower, and industry partners.
* Technical Roadmap Development:
Create and maintain technical roadmaps informed by deep mission understanding, customer roadmaps, competitor assessments, and collaboration efforts.
* IP Management:
Serve as the primary steward for intellectual property, including capture, management, and opportunity identification for licensing, royalty, and acquisitions.
* Proposal Support:
Provide technical leadership and support for white paper/RFI/RFP/proposal development and reviews. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
* Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering field and 12+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree is preferred.
