Field Calibration Technician
The Field Calibration Technician will provide immediate support for electronic, mechanical, and process calibration services in accordance with established procedures and standards. This position will typically operate independently, applying job skills and company policies and procedures to complete a wide range of difficult tasks. The Technician will abide by good housekeeping practices and will perform some administrative duties.
The ideal applicant will be self‑motivated, highly organized, possess a strong commitment to customer service, and excel in a team‑oriented environment. Calibrations will primarily be performed at customer facilities (some overnight travel is required) with some work in our own environmentally controlled labs (Hudson, NH).
Pay, Hours & Overtime- $28–$38/hour
- Typical weekly hours average 42–50 hours, based on customer schedules and workload
- Overtime paid at 1.5x for eligible hours
- Drive time is paid at your regular hourly rate
- Most work is local: ~80% of jobs are within a 2‑hour radius of Hudson, NH
- Overnight travel: up to ~20% of jobs may require overnight stays
- Technicians use their own vehicle for field work
- Mileage reimbursement provided
- Per diem provided for eligible travel/overnights
- Calibrate IM&TE in one or more disciplines such as:
Dimensional, Mechanical, DC/Low Frequency, RF/Microwave, Thermodynamics, Time & Frequency, Fluid, Optical, Chemical, Acoustical, and/or Process - Ensure equipment performance meets published specs and internal procedures
- Identify and resolve out‑of‑tolerance conditions through adjustments, correction factors, component replacement, or other corrective actions
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of precision equipment
- Identify and correct measurement errors when they occur
- Collect, compile, and record calibration data accurately
- Prepare calibration reports and certificates
- Apply working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, uncertainty, and TUR/TAR concepts
- Work directly with customers at their sites with a professional, service‑minded approach
- Partner with technicians, customer service, and vendors to keep work flowing smoothly
- Provide feedback to improve processes and procedures over time
- Follow good housekeeping and careful handling practices for in‑cal and customer standards/equipment
- Use basic IT skills to set up laptops and label printers at customer sites or in‑house
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- 0–3 years of relevant experience (calibration, metrology, test/measurement, electronics, mechanical, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Comfort with statistics and measurement concepts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong time management and problem‑solving ability
- Self‑motivated learner who can work independently and still be a good teammate
