The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for developing and executing end-to-end supply chain strategies that support aerospace program execution, cost targets, quality standards, and on-time delivery. This role leads procurement, supplier management, materials planning, logistics, and inventory optimization while ensuring compliance with aerospace regulatory and quality requirements.

CPI Radant is the radome-and-composite‑structures division of Communications & Power Industries LLC (CPI). They are formally known as CPI Radant Technologies Division, and they serve the aerospace, defense, naval, and commercial industries by designing, manufacturing, testing and supporting advanced composite radomes, reflectors and structural composite products.

What We Do

Radomes are special “domes” made of composite materials that protect antennas and radar systems from the environment while allowing electromagnetic signals to pass. CPI Radant produces these for critical applications, meaning:

  • They enable secure communications and radar/electronic‑warfare capabilities for military and commercial aerospace platforms.
  • Their manufacturing includes large apertures and high‑frequency performance.
  • Their advances in composite manufacturing and large structures feed into modern aircraft, satellites, naval vessels, etc.
Job Responsibilities

The Director will collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, and Finance to support new product introduction, production ramp-ups, and long‑term program sustainment.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives, program schedules, and customer commitments.
  • Lead supply chain planning for long and short cycle aerospace programs, including demand forecasting and capacity planning.
  • Drive cost‑reduction initiatives while maintaining quality, reliability, and risk mitigation.
  • Periodic travel to supplier sites and customer locations (domestic and international), must be eligible to work with export‑controlled data and comply with ITAR regulations
  • Oversee strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier selection for direct and indirect materials.
  • Establish and maintain long‑term partnerships with critical aerospace suppliers.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with AS9100, ITAR, FAR/DFAR, and customer‑specific requirements.
  • Lead supplier risk assessments, audits, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Direct materials planning, MRP/ERP execution, inventory control, and logistics operations to include shelf life challenges.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance working capital, lead times, and production continuity.
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including international shipping and export compliance.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with aerospace quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer mandates.
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering on root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  • Support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits.
Program & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp‑ups by ensuring supply readiness.
  • Collaborate with Program Management to align supply chain deliverables with program milestones.
  • Provide supply chain input on make/buy decisions, capacity constraints, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing supply chain organization.
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics related to cost, delivery, quality, and supplier performance.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership or director‑level role.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace supply chain requirements, including AS9100, ITAR, and long‑lead components.
