Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Hudson, Massachusetts. This role involves managing essential accounting tasks such as reconciliations, tax-related activities, and supporting various specialized projects. Responsibilities:

- Perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

- Manage corporate tax collections and filings, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

- Prepare and review sales tax documentation and submissions.

- Record journal entries and maintain accurate financial data.

- Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are properly balanced.

- Collaborate with team members to support special accounting projects.

- Analyze financial data and generate reports to assist in decision-making.

- Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end processes.

- Monitor and address discrepancies in financial statements.

- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and accounting standards. Requirements - Proven experience handling corporate tax and sales tax processes.

- Strong knowledge of preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns.

- Proficiency in recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

- Familiarity with financial reconciliation practices.

- Ability to analyze financial data and generate detailed reports.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Knowledge of accounting software and tools.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
