Job DescriptionThe Urban Driver Apprenticeship is a 15‑month programme in which apprentices learn all aspects of professional driving and gain the Category C1 (7.5_div) licence, with the goal of moving to a full‑time 7. पू_DRIVER position within DX upon completion. Apprentices will perform non‑driving duties such as office work, drivers’ mate tasks, and warehousing during training, in addition to a broad range of training alongside their daily role.
Apprentices will also obtain the required CPC licences for LGSHIFT driving.
- Represent DX in a professional manner at all times
- Carry out all tasks required as part of the apprenticeship training
- Drive vehicles safely and legally, ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements
- Complete all daily checks and promptly report defects, completing correct paperwork
- Scan all products using DX scanning equipment
- Load deliveries safely before leaving the depot
- Observe DX procedures and policies at all times
- Manage routing to achieve premium and timed deliveries
- Maintain correct equipment and PPE in good order and use them at all times
- Report all delivery and on‑road issues to the traffic office immediately
- Ensure customers receive deliveries in excellent condition every time
- Deal with any customer issues politely and effectively
- Ensure collections are made in line with given instructions and times
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Minimum of 12 months of UK driving experience
- Valid Category B licence

To be accepted as an apprentice you must speak with our partner, GTG Training. They will require you to complete checks, submit information, and complete an English and numeracy assessment. Successful candidates will then be called forward for an interview.
