Job Description About the role

Working within the Outdoor & Essentials Merchandise team, you will be responsible for delivering a commercial range alongside the Buyer, whilst also looking after the planning and weekly trading of this area. Maximising sales and profit is key, whilst ensuring availability for our customers at the same time. This role will be challenging and fast paced. Merchandising is key to our success, and you'll help us deliver the goods in this area - making sure that our customers get exactly what they want, exactly when they want it.

ins and outs
  • This is a fast paced role, and the ability to switch between longer term strategy and immediate trading priorities is key.
  • Work directly with the Buyer to set the category strategy and understand our customer needs and competitor activity.
  • Work with the buyer to develop strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Alongside your key stakeholders, you will manage the product critical path and lifecycle to ensure launch availability and full availability on continuity lines.
  • Drive the business and maximise opportunities to drive sales and profit both in season and for future ranges.
  • Provide an accurate view of the P&L for your area and manage the risks and ops throughout the year to deliver the business plan.
  • Accurately forecast sales, stock turn and markdown to achieve maximum profit both in season and during exit.
  • Provide detailed analysis of sales to provide recommendations for range control, budgeting & selection for future seasons.
