Production Shift Manager

Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to once again be supporting a global specialist manufacturer in Huddersfield to recruit a Production Shift Manager. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a fast-paced business and take charge of driving productivity, quality, H&S and continuous improvement across the shift.

Key Responsibilities of the Production Shift Manager include:

• Lead and motivate production teams to achieve daily and long-term operational targets
• Ensure products are manufactured to the correct specification, quality standards and efficiency levels
• Monitor performance data and drive improvements using KPIs
• Analyse downtime and work closely with Maintenance to improve equipment performance
• Manage labour planning to meet production schedules while controlling costs
• Provide clear communication and effective handovers between shifts
• Take full responsibility for health and safety on shift, ensuring compliance with policies
• Develop, coach and upskill your team
• Manage performance, absence, training and all 1st line management responsibilities
• Ensure quality systems are followed and maintain an audit-ready environment
• Investigate quality issues and implement preventative improvements
• Promote and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the shift

We’re looking for Production Shift Managers with the below skills & experience:

• Experienced in managing large teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Confident developing and coaching individuals to reach their full potential
• IOSH Managing Safely qualified (or similar)
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety standards and continuous improvement methodologies
• Comfortable working with ERP systems and production data
• A clear communicator who can balance strategic thinking with reactive decision-making
• Commercially aware, proactive and decisive
• A natural leader who takes ownership, drives standards and leads by example

This is a full-time, shift-based role requiring flexibility and occasional overtime to ensure business continuity.
