Purpose of the Role

As a Domestic Assistant, you will carry out cleaning duties and assist with basic care tasks for adults with physical, visual, or hearing difficulties. Working under the guidance of senior staff, you'll play a vital role in maintaining hygiene and dignity for those in our care.

Key Details

• Location: Kirklees
• Hours: 30 hours per week, 5 days over 7
• Shifts: 08:00-14:00 and 12:30-18:30
• Pay: £12.45 per hour
• Experience Required: Previous cleaning experience

Key Responsibilities

• Clean designated areas and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Assist with kitchen and dining tasks (meal preparation, washing up, laying tables).
• Operate cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor polisher).
• Provide basic care as instructed (washing, bathing, toileting, clothing care).
• Report incidents promptly and attend training sessions and meetings.
• Follow health & safety, hygiene, and safeguarding protocols.

Requirements

• Ability to follow instructions and maintain hygiene standards.
• Understanding of health & safety and equality issues.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check and medical screening.
• NVQ Level 2 in Care (or willingness to train).
• Positive, respectful, and supportive attitude.
