Control Software Engineer
Location:
Huddersfield (Hybrid – 1–2 Days from Home)
Salary: £45,000 – £70,000 per annum (DOE)

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist automation and robotics business based in Huddersfield who are looking to appoint an experienced Control Software Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically strong and growing engineering team delivering bespoke automation and robotic solutions across a range of industrial sectors. The role offers hybrid working, with 1–2 days per week available from home.
The Role:
As a Control Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and commissioning of PLC and SCADA control systems across a variety of automation projects.
You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept and software design through to testing, commissioning and customer handover.
Key Responsibilities:
* Programming and development of PLC control systems
* Development and configuration of SCADA systems and HMI interfaces
* System testing, debugging and optimisation
* Supporting commissioning activities (UK and potentially international)
* Producing technical documentation
* Working closely with electrical, mechanical and project teams
Requirements:
* Proven experience programming PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or similar)
* Strong experience with SCADA systems
* Experience with in automation, robotics or special purpose machinery environments
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
