We have an exciting opportunity for a Podiatrist to join the Department of Allied Health Professions, Sport and Exercise as a University Practitioner. This is a part‑time post (up to 0.8 FTE), enabling the successful applicant to inspire learning for podiatry students alongside their podiatry practice.
The University of Huddersfield has excellent facilities, which continue to expand with state‑of‑the‑art teaching, research and clinical facilities in the National Health Innovation Campus. We have a diverse student body and work closely with our education partners and patients through our teaching clinic.
Huddersfield is close to beautiful countryside, with excellent road and rail links to Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield. In 2023, the University achieved the TEF Gold award.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and delivery of the podiatry programmes, delivering excellent teaching and learning experiences for students.
- Support practice‑based learning through the on‑site podiatry clinic.
- Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Podiatrist and hold a relevant master’s degree or higher.
- Be (or be willing to become within 12 months) a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
- Bring experience of training or teaching podiatry within a clinical or higher education setting.
- Work in practice at the university as a Practitioner, possibly through paid employment, consultancy or freelance work.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Podiatrist.
- Relevant master’s degree or higher.
- Experience of training or teaching podiatry.
- Ability to work towards Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy within 12 months.
- Subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check – regular status checks may also be required.
