Overview
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient and accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products. This role involves leading a team of warehouse associates, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring safety standards are met, and coordinating with other departments to support operational needs. The Warehouse Lead will also be responsible for training new team members and maintaining an organized and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse associates to ensure high performance and efficiency.
- Assign tasks, manage schedules, and monitor team productivity.
- Provide guidance and coaching to warehouse staff on best practices for inventory management, safety, and efficiency.
- Oversee the accurate tracking of inventory levels and ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure proper labeling and organization of materials and products for easy identification and access.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Ensure that the warehouse operates in compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety checks and lead safety training for warehouse staff.
- Coordinate the timely and accurate picking, packing, and shipping of products and materials.
- Ensure efficient and error‑free handling of orders and products to support the production and installation teams.
- Manage the loading and unloading of delivery trucks.
- Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements to increase warehouse efficiency.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager to develop and improve processes related to inventory, safety, and productivity.
- Assist with the development and implementation of new warehouse procedures.
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and warehouse processes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and other departments.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a warehouse environment.
- Leadership – Ability to manage and motivate a team to achieve goals and maintain high levels of performance.
- Organization – Skilled in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing to meet deadlines.
- Problem Solving – Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions to improve efficiency and operations.
- Attention to Detail – Ensures that all aspects of inventory and shipping processes are accurate and well‑executed.
- Communication – Clearly and effectively communicates with team members and management.
- Safety‑Conscious – Prioritizes the safety of the team and ensures compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
- Warehouse-based role, requiring standing, bending, and lifting throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced, physical environment.
- Standard working hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as required.
