High-Level Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Inventory Specialist to join our team. The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for fulfilling inventory orders, managing inventory levels, communicating interdepartmentally to ensure effective workflow, and contributing to improvement activities to enhance operational processes in order to better serve customers.

Key Responsibilities

VLM-Critical Operations & Optimization:
Effective VLM optimization is critical to supporting scalable distribution operations. Beyond accurately picking and completing orders within the VLM, the ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Serve as a primary operator and steward of the Vertical Lift Module (VLM), recognizing its critical role in enabling scalable, high-velocity distribution
  • Execute accurate picking and order fulfillment within the VLM while ensuring strict adherence to system and process controls
  • Organize, slot, and re-slot inventory within the VLM to optimize vertical space utilization, improve pick efficiency, and support growth in order volume
  • Analyze item velocity, dimensions, and on-hand quantities to determine optimal storage strategies and continuously refine VLM layout and performance
  • Utilize VLM software to accurately add, adjust, and maintain bin-level inventory, ensuring ongoing system accuracy and reliability
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline VLM workflows, reduce pick times, and mitigate operational bottlenecks

Inventory Fulfillment & Distribution Execution

  • Pick, package, and ship product to replenish internal and field inventory needs (via sales orders, bill and ship, transfer orders, and general sales representative requirements, etc.)
  • Perform inventory cycle counts in accordance with processes and procedures for approved inventory and materials
  • Complete weekly restock orders
  • Put away all finished goods in designated inventory locations
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Maintain supply of shipping materials
  • Create and update transaction records in Netsuite ERP software, including but not limited to Transfer Orders, Fulfillmen ts, Receipts, and Inventory Adjustments
  • Manage and organize all inventory related documentation
  • Manage the receipt of inventory including receiving product and inputting inventory data into the ERP system
  • Communicate with other departments including Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Quality and Executive Committee regarding inventory fulfillment needs and updates
  • Participate in continuous quality and performance improvement activities
  • Manage inventory activity in Netsuite ERP System

Minimum Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous work experience in inventory
  • Prior experience with an ERP System
