Shipping and Receiving Clerk

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving incoming materials, preparing outgoing shipments, and assisting the Inventory Manager in maintaining accurate inventory records. This role plays a key part in ensuring materials, equipment, and products are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands‑on environment.
Key Responsibilities – Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders

• Report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to management
• Properly label, tag, and store received materials in designated locations
• Maintain accurate receiving documentation and records
• Prepare outgoing shipments including packaging, labeling, and documentation
• Coordinate shipments with carriers and internal departments
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries as needed
• Maintain organized warehouse and storage areas
• Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Assist warehouse and operations staff with other duties as assigned
  
  Qualifications — Required
  - High school diploma or GED
• 0–2 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or related experience
  - Experience in manufacturing, HVAC, construction, or distribution environments
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory systems
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
  
  Qualifications — Preferred
  - Forklift or material-handling equipment experience (or willingness to train)
• Familiarity with inventory, shipping, or ERP systems
  Skills & Competencies – Strong organizational skills
• Ability to follow procedures and instructions
• Dependable and punctual
• Basic math and counting skills
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude
  Work Environment Warehouse or shop environment. May involve standing, walking, lifting, and working around equipment. Standard business hours with occasional overtime as needed.
  Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, and move throughout the workday, and operate warehouse equipment safely.
