Airgas is Hiring for a Local Delivery Driver in Houston, TX (Knight Rd. location). We are looking for you!

Responsibilities
  • Ambassador for Airgas
    , the Service & Delivery Professional takes pride in the safe and reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders to our local and regional business partners. Operate from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck. Manage the flow of cylinders while building lasting relationships with the customers you visit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cylinder Handling
    :
    Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
  • Record Keeping
    :
    Accurately record deliveries and pickups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt. Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
  • Safety and Compliance
    :
    Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
  • Warehouse Support
    :
    Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid TX Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
  • Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications.
  • We are looking for one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a commitment to road safety to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.
  • We also welcome graduates with a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.
  • Candidates should be at least 21 years or older.
  • Proficiency in navigating and comprehending material safety data sheets.
  • Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Comfort operating vehicles with hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is part of daily operations.
  • Availability to support the team with occasional overtime if necessary.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain collaborative safety credentials for customer site access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in operating heavy machinery (Forklift/Moffett).
