Licensed Customs Broker | Houston, TX | Salary:
Up to $100,000
This role is responsible for ensuring compliant and efficient clearance of international shipments through U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The ideal candidate will have strong regulatory knowledge, experience managing complex entries, and the ability to work closely with clients, government agencies, and internal teams to facilitate smooth import operations.

- Prepare, review, and submit customs entries in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
- Classify imported goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and determine applicable duties, taxes, and fees.
- Ensure compliance with all U.S. import regulations, including PGA (Participating Government Agency) requirements.
- Maintain and manage the company’s Customs Power of Attorney documentation.
- Provide guidance to clients on customs regulations, duty rates, and import requirements.
- Review shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Coordinate with carriers, importers, customs officials, and internal operations teams to resolve clearance issues.
- Respond to CBP requests, exams, and notices.
- Monitor shipments to ensure timely release and delivery.
- Stay current with regulatory updates and communicate changes to internal teams and customers.
- Assist with post-entry activities including PSC filings, protests, and duty drawback inquiries.
- Active U.S. Customs Broker License issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
- 3–7+ years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international logistics.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, HTS classification, and import compliance.
- Experience using brokerage software systems (e.g., Cargo Wise, Descartes, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
