Responsibilities

  • Ensure shipping associates have clear direction of the daily tasks necessary for each day
  • Communicate with shipping associates the priority as prescribed by customer order needs
  • Coordinate daily shipping operations, including scheduling, packaging, labeling, and documentation.
  • Identify key customer orders daily that need to be prioritized for shipping.
  • Work closely with internal departments to resolve outstanding issues that hold up the shipping process.
  • Respond to customer inquiries providing requested information in a timely manner including inquiries for USMCA information.
  • Ensure all outbound shipments meet AMOT quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Comply with customer-specific shipping instructions, including labeling requirements, use of customer portals, commercial invoice documentation and country specific requirements.
  • Prepare and complete accurate documentation for international shipments, including commercial invoices, to ensure compliance with customs and trade regulations.
  • Manage and train shipping staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight companies to optimize shipping costs and delivery times.
  • Work with warehouse staff to resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols within the shipping area.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Drive improvements to the organization of shipping suppliers and storage.
  • Assist engineering in shipping samples or parts to outside services and customers as requested.
  • Oversee and complete shipping transactions in ERP system and freight company systems. (UPS/Fed Ex, etc.)
  • Monitor flow of completed jobs to improve overall delivery times for customer orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and organize work areas for efficiency and safety.
  • Provide status reports to management as required.
Education & Experience
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or logistics certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience is strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations, documentation, import / export compliance, and ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
