Business Need / Purpose of Role:

The HUB Operations Coordinator is responsible for oversight and coordination of principal’s vessel appointments routed through the Service Centre. Ensures Principal & Vessel requirements are met focusing on delivery to the client and Inchcape Shipping Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and comply with requirements as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for service delivery of the Hub
  • Coordinate vessel calls with local agents and stakeholders to optimize the port call without any delays or additional costs to the principle and/or Hub
  • Monitor local agency performance and where required ensure service delivery standards
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship building
  • Monitoring and compliance of KPIs and cost savings and recording the data
  • Ensure compliance with the principal requests, procedures and policies, working instructions and contractual requirements
  • The post holder will carry out any other duties as and when required as requested by a line manager/management
  • Adhere to all internal ISS processes and procedures
  • Accountable for reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses whether the persons are injured or not
  • Taking action within area of accountability to ensure the HSSE of both the job holder and other persons who may be affected by acts carried out or failed to be carried out by the job holder while at work

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Prior knowledge of Maritime operations, Local law and regulations.
  • Communication skills to engage terminal representatives, principal and/or vessels.
  • Adept at Port and Immigration documentation
  • Proficiency at basic computer skills including MS office and MS outlook.
  • Must be professional in conduct and practice, and also reliable as each report are time critical.
  • Creative, responsive and adaptive in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, balance multiple tasks, and under different time zones.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, multitask and possess strong initiative, exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures.
  • Possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize, be detail oriented and results driven.
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, including strong verbal and listening skills.
  • Must possess an intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.

Education, Qualifications, Certifications, And Licenses

Education/

Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Maritime Transportation or related major in a public or accredited private academic institution preferred
  • Prior experience in marine agency field desired, but not required.
  • Transitioning military personnel and veterans are encouraged to apply.
  • Eligibility to work in the US.
