General Summary
Under the direction of the Special Programs Manager, the Food Transportation Driver is responsible for receiving all daily meals for the Harris County Precinct 2 Senior Meal Program from a third-party vendor. The role includes performing daily cleaning and inspections of coolers and all materials used for meal transport, as well as maintaining accurate inventory of supplies. The Food Transportation Driver is also responsible for completing routine inspections and coordinating maintenance for all transits assigned to Food Services.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Special Programs Manager to support overall program operations.
- Pick up and deliver daily meals from third party vendor along with sorting and distributing meals to each Delivery Driver for each food delivery route assigned.
- Daily cleaning, sanitizing and inspection of all materials needed for senior meal deliveries.
- Work with Harris County Precinct 2 Fleet Services Department to maintain all transits assigned to Food Services, including inspections, oil changes, tires, etc.
- Track all inventory for Food Services Department. Report all needed items to Food Services Specialist.
- Transport and set up items to and from Food Services Department to events or other Harris County Precinct 2 departments assigned by Special Programs Manager as needed.

Education- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.
Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to operate a Harris County Precinct 2 vehicle.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Demonstrate professionalism, with excellent communication skills.

- Regular Full-time | Requiring the employee to work 40 hours per week.
- Monday - Friday | 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.
- Hours may vary based on needs of the department and some weekends, evening hours or holidays may be required during special events.
- This job operates in a kitchen and vehicle setting. This role routinely uses kitchen utensils, warmers, coolers, and a motor vehicle. This job entails delivery including being in the weather. (Heat, cold, rain, sunshine) Work outside and inside; work around vehicles and machinery with moving parts; moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes.
- Essential functions involve significant physical demands related to repeated lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted, carrying warmers, coolers. Frequently climbing stairs, reaching, bending, walking, sifting, talking, driving, bending, stooping. twisting, and maintaining balance.
