Description
Reporting to the Poolside Recreation Manager, ROCC is looking for enthusiastic, confident, motivated and qualified individuals to join our Aquatics team for Summer 2026! Swim Instructors able to teach for both group and private lessons and to assist in leading other special programs as assigned.

Lessons Available Monday-Friday (Afternoon-Evenings) and Weekend (Mornings)
Must be available to start by March 9th, 2026
Duties and Responsibilities- Follows designed swim lesson curriculum
- Creates goals for individual’s progression
- Lead and motivate participants
- Ability to effectively communicate to members, guests and staff
- Evaluate participant performance and progress
- Records class participation for lessons and charges transactions for private lessons
- Educating swimmers on water safety and life-savingli>
- Teaching current and industry leading strokes and techniques
- Ensure the pool or training area is neat and free of hazards
- Respond to emergencies in pool or poolside in tandem with the facility safety team
- A minimum of 1 year of Swim Lesson Teaching experience or Competitive swimming background at a high school or higher level
- Possess in-depth knowledge of all four competitive strokes
- Good knowledge of health and nutrition
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Ability to obtain Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification from American Red Cross within 6 months of hire
- Ability to demonstrate swimming skills
- Ability to work outside in the poolside area up to 95% of the time, exposed to sunlight, wet and humid conditions, and heat occasionally exceeding 100 degrees and cold as 50 degrees
- Ability to spend long periods of time in the water
- Coaching or Swim Instructor certifications from accredited organization are preferred
- Leads by example and motivates others
- Thoroughly enjoys working with children
- High energy, self-motivated, outgoing personality
- Courteous, tactful, kind and respectful
- Excellent people skills and a friendly, responsible, service-oriented attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable and timely – able to arrive at work on time and remain at the Club for the duration of the shift
