SQL Developer; IBM Series

We are seeking an experienced IBM iSeries (AS400) SQL Developer with strong expertise in DB2 and SQL stored procedures
. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience implementing complex business logic within SQL stored procedures, modernizing legacy database structures, and optimizing high‑volume transactional systems on the IBM i platform.

This role requires deep technical expertise in DB2 on iSeries and proven experience delivering enterprise‑grade database solutions.

• Develop and maintain database applications on the IBM iSeries (AS400) platform
• Design and implement complex SQL stored procedures to support business logic
• Modernize legacy database tables and improve data structures
• Perform performance tuning and query optimization on large transactional tables
• Support database enhancements and ongoing system improvements
• Collaborate with application teams for backend integrations
• Participate in modernization efforts from legacy RPG‑based logic to SQL‑based solutions

• Strong hands‑on experience with IBM iSeries / AS400
• Expert‑level experience with DB2 for i
• Extensive experience writing complex SQL stored procedures implementing business logic
• Experience working with large, high‑volume transactional databases
• Proven performance tuning and query optimization experience
• Ability to clearly explain at least 2 projects involving SQL stored procedures on IBM iSeries

• Experience converting or modernizing RPG to SQL stored procedures (DB2)
• Experience with custom implementations for Oracle Financials or HFM
• Familiarity with IBM tools such as Aldon, RDI, ACS
• Experience integrating with front‑end applications using REST APIs and JSON
• Exposure to Python, microservices architecture, VS Code IDE
• Experience with Git or modern source control systems

• 7+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in enterprise financial or transactional environments
• Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills
