Quanteam is supporting a major energy trading client in Houston on strategic transformation initiatives across trading, risk, and data platforms. We are looking for a Software Engineer (C# or Python) with strong AWS data services exposure to contribute to high-impact projects at the intersection of technology, trading, and analytics
.
You will work closely with traders, risk analysts, business analysts, and IT teams in a fast-paced energy trading / capital markets environment.
Role & Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and services using C# and/or Python
- Contribute to cloud-based data pipelines and analytics platforms on AWS
- Build and optimize solutions leveraging AWS Glue, S3, Athena (and related services)
- Support trading, risk, P&L, and market data use cases for energy commodities (power, gas, renewables, etc.)
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate trading and risk requirements into technical solutions
- Ensure code quality, performance, scalability, and security in production environments
- Participate in system design, technical documentation, and production support when needed
- 3 to 10 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer / Developer
- Strong development skills in C# and/or Python
- Solid hands-on experience with AWS
, including (Glue, S3 & Athena) - Experience working in Capital Markets, Energy Trading, Commodities, or Trading Systems
- Good understanding of data-driven architectures
, APIs, and backend services - Comfortable working in agile, front-office or trading-adjacent environments
- Exposure to energy trading systems (ETRM/CTRM, P&L, risk, market data)
- Knowledge of SQL
, data modeling, and analytics use cases - Experience with CI/CD, Dev Ops, or infrastructure-as-code
- Prior experience working directly with traders or risk teams
