SummarySoftware Engineering is transforming to a model where engineers leverage agents to plan, build, and optimize the development lifecycle. At Apex Health Solutions, we’ve adopted this model as our daily workflow. Through these techniques, Apex is accelerating every stage of our healthcare technology lifecycle.
As a Software Engineer at Apex, you’ll be part of a team that designs and delivers impactful healthcare software solutions. You’ll work within an orchestrated process where feature development follows a spec-driven model, quickly iterating from natural language intent to planned technical implementations. Our software is then validated by engineers who focus on architecture, judgment, and quality.
Our engineers work with autonomous development agents (Claude Code, Git Hub Copilot) as their primary development environment. The engineer who thrives here can direct agents effectively, review generated code critically, and make sound architectural decisions — often across unfamiliar territory. Our agentic process handles the syntax while you handle the thinking.
We’re looking for candidates who bring strong engineering fundamentals and are excited to work at the frontier of agentic software development. Curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset are just as important as technical experience.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOther duties may be assigned.
- Build and maintain production applications using modern cloud technologies, with agents handling implementation while you provide architectural direction and quality oversight.
- Oversee code generation — catching logic errors, security vulnerabilities, and architectural problems before they reach production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into specifications that drive agentic implementation workflows.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of our agentic tooling, orchestration processes, and specialized agent configurations.
- Build out new external-facing application surfaces (greenfield) alongside extending existing clinical workflow features.
- Extend CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (Azure), and infrastructure-as-code to support multiple application deployments.
- Ensure solutions are secure, compliant (e.g., HIPAA), and production-ready in Azure environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Preferred 5+ years of experience in software development, web application engineering, or cloud platform development.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals — system design, data modeling, and code quality regardless of specific language or framework.
- Experience building and deploying web applications in a cloud environment.
- Comfort working with agentic development tools (Claude Code, Git Hub Copilot, Codex, or similar), or strong curiosity to learn.
- Security and compliance awareness — instinctive attention to data protection (we handle healthcare data under HIPAA).
- Familiarity with .NET / C# or other strongly-typed languages is a plus.
- Familiarity with Azure services (App Service, SQL, Functions, Key Vault) is a plus.
- Healthcare domain experience a plus.
- Experience with infrastructure as code or CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Passion for innovation, automation, and transforming how software is built and operated.
