About HoustonExxon Mobil’s state‑of‑the‑art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions, and Low‑Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors. The campus is located in Spring, Texas, on 385 wooded acres immediately west of Interstate Highway 45 (I‑45) at the intersection of I‑45 and the Hardy Toll Road, approximately 25 miles from downtown Houston. What Role You Will Play in Our TeamSeeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Data Integration and Systems Specialist to join Exxon Mobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc. (EMBSI). This role designs, develops, and maintains data integration solutions that ensure seamless data flow between Exxon Mobil (EM) systems, Boston applications, and databases. The candidate will work with EMIT to document EMBSI business processes and translate/transform them into solutions, staying abreast of upcoming business and system changes while collaborating with key stakeholders to minimize impact on EMBSI systems and workflows.
The position is located at Exxon Mobil’s Houston campus in Spring, TX.
- Establish documentation of business process workflows and their connections to data systems
- Support ideation, translating business requirements to solutions (systems, work processes, and/or automated workflows)
- Collaborate with EMBSI science staff to design, develop, test, and deploy solutions to rapidly respond to organizational needs
- Manage working relationships and prioritization of EMBSI work initiatives with EMIT teams
- Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources including APIs, databases, flat files, and cloud platforms
- Strive for automation by coding or leading and influencing developers to build systems that are easy to run in production
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity during transfers between systems
- Troubleshoot data integration issues and perform root cause analysis
- Maintain documentation of data flow processes and system interfaces
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards
- Collaborate with business partners such as Exxon Mobil Product Solutions, Global Operations & Sustainability to drive improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of data integration, reporting, and analysis
- Support updates and change management processes while championing changes that drive improvements in EMBSI processes, e.g., increase efficiency and effectiveness for Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring, distribution, and chemical management
Skills and Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in data integration, databases/data management, or digital solutions
- Strong skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server or similar)
- Experience with APIs and data exchange formats (JSON, XML, CSV)
