Software Developer II; JAVA

Advent Global Solutions, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking Software Developers II (JAVA) to design, develop, test, and implement JAVA software applications. Individuals will apply advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of subject matter principles and concepts, as well as experience designing and developing system applications, to perform the duties of the position.

• Design, develop, test and implement JAVA software applications to enhance new functionalities for the computer application systems considering emerging JAVA technologies, software and hardware.
• Develop user interface (UI) applications.
• Coordinate with Functional managers and Computer programmers and do analysis of existing computer systems.
• Gather and document requirements and specifications.
• Perform GAP analysis and write functional specifications.
• Prepare system flow charts, Training Manuals, backup and security systems.

Master s degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Information Systems, or any STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics) field of study, plus at least one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in any related position(s).

In lieu of the above-stated primary minimum requirements, the employer will accept a Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Information Systems, or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field of study, plus at least five (5) years of post-degree, progressive experience in the job offered or any related position(s).

Employer will accept a foreign degree.

Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable, knowledge, proficiency, and skill (gained through education or employment) with the following:

• Two or more of the following programming languages: JAVA, J2EE, EJB, Node.js, JSP, or multi-threaded programming.
• One or more of the following:
  Struts, Spring, or Hibernate.

No travel; no telecommuting. Job duties are project-based and performed on long-term assignments at various unanticipated sites within the U.S. which may require relocation at the end of each project.
