Objective
A Volunteer’s responsibilities include completing tasks assigned to them in support of the AAMA Prevention and Counseling's high standards and values. In addition to assigned tasks, the volunteer is expected to demonstrate professionalism, arrive on time, and follow instructions. Some of a volunteer's duties might involve assisting with clients, preparing materials, assisting with recordkeeping, helping with cleaning up after clients, and working jointly with trained personnel.
When volunteers are on duty, their dress should conform to the Prevention and Counseling Center's dress code.
All volunteers will be required to complete a Background Check and Drug Test, as well as required training. Volunteers will be required to check in and out at the front desk of the Prevention and Counseling Center. This record allows AAMA to know who is in the building, as well as track hours. Volunteers are required to wear name badges provided by the counseling center as a security measure.
Volunteers are required to learn counseling center procedures and follow them.

- A good volunteer is consistent, dependable, interested in making a difference, respectful and appreciative of all personnel and clients, and faithful to commitments.
- To be punctual and be available during assigned hours.
- To comply with AAMA policies, standards, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- To take precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
- To participate responsibly in the counseling center's improvement initiatives.
- To demonstrate timeliness and attendance for assigned responsibilities.
- To work collaboratively with other personnel and clients.
- To provide and accept evaluative feedback professionally.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about personnel and clients.
- Familiar with the basic functions of a computer.
- Graduate or Undergraduate in counseling services
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Good organizational skills and ability to follow established processes.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills and a positive, cooperative attitude.
