Primary
Purpose:
To develop and implement recurring, effective family engagement activities at CASE sites.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Communications or related field from an accredited university
Skills:
- Strong communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills; bilingual preferred
- Access to community-based resources and family-serving organizations and agencies
- Community assessment and resource knowledge
- Ability to coordinate services for parents and guardians, site coordinators, and public agencies
- Ability to use a variety of software, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
- Two years of experience in social work, family or child services, or related areas
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Demonstrate knowledge of 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) and CASE priorities, program plans, policies and procedures.
- Act as an advocate for families enrolled in the program, both within the center and the larger community and assist families in becoming knowledgeable of community resources and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies to bring resources, training, and services to families of students participating in a 21st CCLC program.
- Plan, develop, coordinate and deliver family engagement workshops to 21st CCLC site coordinators, families, and/or parent liaisons in support of parental involvement, job readiness, and adult literacy.
- Aid sites in aligning enrichment and family engagement activities with academic support and needs based on the school day.
- Work with sites to identify strengths and needs to develop ongoing parent/guardian involvement activities at 21st CCLC sites.
- Maintain appropriate records to document parental and community involvement and participation at sites.
- Oversee implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM), High-Impact Tutoring (HIT) and other school-day-aligned academic support.
- Lead ongoing professional development, program observations, and coaching to improve program quality.
- Work with the site coordinator, school staff, parents, volunteers, and community partners to develop effective advisory councils.
- Participate in committees and work groups as assigned for 21st CCLC, Texas ACE, HCDE, and CASE for Kids.
- Accurate and timely submission of required and requested reports for TEA, TEA Partners, HCDE, CASE for Kids & community groups.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
