Field/Service Technician
Salamander Solutions is seeking a Houston-based Field Services Team Lead to take full ownership of on‑site heater installations and commissioning activities. This role serves as the single point of accountability at location — responsible for safety, execution quality, cost control, schedule sequencing, and client interface.
The ideal candidate brings oilfield installation experience, including exposure to downhole and surface production systems such as ESP, PCP, Beam Pump systems, fiber deployments, packers, and instrumentation.
EssentialJob Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead all on‑site mechanical and electrical installation activities
- Direct and coordinate Electrical and Mechanical Field Technicians
- Coordinate third‑party equipment and service providers within Salamander’s scope
- Interface directly with the Operator’s Person In Charge (PIC)
- Plan job sequencing and manage field execution against schedule
- Maintain field‑level cost awareness (labor, equipment, scope control)
- Participate in CWOPs and structured pre‑job planning
- Oversee commissioning, startup, and performance validation
- Ensure work aligns with engineering drawings, safety standards, and quality expectations
- Maintain clear daily reporting and communication with leadership
- Drive safety culture, including stop‑work authority
- 5+ years oil & gas field installation experience
- Experience leading field crews and coordinating multi‑discipline work
- Willingness to travel as required (approximately 30–60%)
- Medium voltage and PLC exposure
- Strong mechanical installation knowledge with working electrical/instrumentation familiarity
- Experience with commissioning and startup activities
- Exposure to artificial lift or production‑related systems (ESP, PCP, Beam, fiber, packers, instrumentation)
- Familiarity with CWOP participation
- Strong leadership presence and communication skills
- Experience integrating surface equipment into production environments
- Background with Baker Hughes, Weatherford, SLB, or similar
