Position SummaryThe BAS Controls Technician is responsible for the startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automation control systems for air distribution equipment, air handlers, valves, variable‑speed equipment, exhaust systems, lighting, chilled water, and boiler systems. Many projects include replacement, renovation, or retrofit of building HVAC systems. This role requires a passion for delivering innovative building automation solutions and outstanding customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities- Startup and troubleshoot automation control systems for air distribution equipment, air handlers, valves, variable‑speed equipment, exhaust systems, lighting, chilled water, and boiler systems.
- Support project activities that include replacement, renovation, or retrofit of building HVAC systems.
- Provide superior building automation systems and outstanding customer service to clients.
- Understand the Reliable product line and installation methods.
- Apply knowledge of HVAC and electrical.
- Maintain communication with the project manager and team members.
- Manage material and chain of custody.
- Install point‑to‑point end devices on boxes and fan coils.
- Set up controller hardware correctly, including wiring and addressing.
- Set up MSET MPC and Cradle Point.
- Checkout terminal units, fan coils, and complete sheet documentation.
- Perform sequence checks on boxes and fan coils.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting of terminal units and fan coils.
- Maintain checkout books, checkout sheets, and redline submittals.
- Checkout AHU.

- High school diploma (or equivalent) required; college degree or certification preferred.
- Technical aptitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge in one or more of the following is a plus:
- HVAC controls concepts
- HVAC equipment
- Electrical
- Controls installation
- Computer networking
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications:
- Excel
- Word
- Outlook
- Visio
