The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Club's physical property meets all required standards, including safety, appearance, and operational standards, while staying within budgetary goals. The position requires preparing an inventory of parts to support various departments, assisting in scheduling contractors or supervising them on site, completing work orders, and conducting inspections. The technician must comply with the Club's policies, operational and safety procedures, and all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws.
Responsibilitiesand Scope
Diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair as directed by the Maintenance Manager. Duties may include electrical and plumbing work on water lines, A/C and heating systems, commercial cooking appliances, irrigation systems, stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings, walls, tile, carpet, flooring, roofing, gutters, fasteners, interior and exterior lights, fireplaces, ceiling fans, gas fixtures and appliances, shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding glass doors, door locks and hardware, security systems, water intrusion, and pool areas, hot tubs/spas, steam rooms.
The technician will also inspect common interior and exterior areas, report needed maintenance and repairs to the supervisor, and keep grounds neat and free of litter.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities, technological competence, and the capacity to analyze risks and raise escalation when necessary.
Minimum education:
high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum experience:
one year of multi‑family maintenance technician experience.
Preferred certifications: pool maintenance certificate and HVAC certification (Levels I & II or Universal). The candidate must also be comfortable performing HVAC, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, dryer, painting, sheetrock, electrical, and plumbing repairs, and possess knowledge of safety precautions.
Work environment and physical demands: occasional exposure to high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, moderate noise levels. The candidate should be able to stand, walk, use hands, reach, sit, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull up to 100 pounds, and carry up to 50 pounds.
