MASTER - ROOFER

Primary Purpose

To maintain buildings and structures in a manner consistent with PISD standards as to appearance and function. Responsible for the inspection, repair, and installation of roofs for PISD.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a valid Texas driver's license and meet and maintain the insurance requirements of PISD.
• Must pass an initial drug test and be part of a random drug testing program.
• Must pass a criminal history check.

• Ability to troubleshoot, install, diagnose, and repair all types of roofing systems used on PISD facilities
• Willing to progress in skill level.
• General knowledge of tools used in designated craft.
• Five years' experience in the related field preferred.

• Performs, repairs, inspects, and installs all types of roofing systems used by PISD.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all types of roofing systems used by PISD.
• Must have a working knowledge of computer systems regarding email, work order, and time entry systems.
• Inspects new roofing system & repairs by outside contractors.
• Assist other crafts as needed.
• Must be willing to respond to occasional after-hour emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions.

Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting, must have use of all faculties. Must be able to work from ladders and elevated platforms. Work outside. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials. May work on slippery and uneven surfaces.
