K provides full‑spectrum base operations support to Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia, a remote location in the British Indian Ocean Territory. Our robust supply chain ensures on‑time delivery of mission‑critical supplies, and our team conducts essential port and airfield operations in this geographically complex environment. The K team is over 1,000 people strong, providing not only life support services such as water treatment, electricity, and telecom/antenna maintenance, but also quality of life services like Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) and an award‑winning dining facility.
Job SummaryJoin our team supporting U.S. Navy Base Operations as a Fire Alarm Systems Technician. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, testing, and repairing fire protection and life safety systems to ensure full operational readiness and compliance with all applicable codes and standards. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Fire Protection/Life Safety industry.
Roles And Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fire alarm systems.
- Install, inspect, test, and repair fire alarm panels, wiring, and related components.
- Inspect, repair, and replace smoke/heat detectors, sprinkler heads, and wet/dry systems.
- Identify and report hazards, deficiencies, or necessary adjustments.
- Utilize appropriate diagnostic programs and test equipment to verify system functionality.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with National Fire Alarm Code, UFC‑03‑601‑02, UFC 03‑600‑01, and other applicable codes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all inspections, testing, and maintenance activities.
- Some after‑hours, weekend, and on‑call work may be required to support mission operations.
- Perform other work‑related duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Familiarity with systems such as Siemens/Pyrotronics System 3, Notifier NFS2‑640, EST 3, Simplex Addressable, King Fisher KFRTI‑20/52
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm codes and standards.
- Skilled in AC/DC fire alarm systems, troubleshooting, and sensitivity testing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system schematics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with NAVFAC Maximo preferred.
- Able to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Physically capable of performing field tasks (climbing, bending, walking).
- Must pass medical, dental, drug screening, and background checks.
- Valid driver’s license and English proficiency required.
- Required:
NICET Level III – Fire Alarm Systems - Preferred: NICET Level I/II – Inspection & Testing;
Licensed Fire Protection Engineer
- Required:
High school, vocational, or technical school diploma - Preferred:
Bachelor’s in Fire Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
