Job Summary

The Sheet Metal Worker will fabricate, build, and install various types of metal structures and equipment for a project in the College Station area.

Pay Range

$15-$25 per hour

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision.
• Ability to safely use machinery and tools involved in sheet metal work.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand product assignment.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an apprenticeship or a three-year, in-company training program required.
• Certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods lifting, reaching, and working on scaffolding and overhead structures.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Select types of sheet metal according to building or design plans.
• Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets.
• Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.
• Install metal sheets with supportive frameworks.
• Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites.
• Maneuver and anchor large sheet metal parts.
• Fasten seams or joints by welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering.
