Overview
Patient Care and Prevention Facilities (PC&PF) is fundamental to the daily operations of MD Anderson Cancer Center. This department ensures all of the hospital's facilities are safe, operational, and compliant with accreditation standards. It fosters an environment of growth and professional development by cultivating the skills necessary to oversee the vital maintenance operations needed throughout the institution. PC&PF also plays a longitudinal role for the institution in overseeing the construction of new facilities and the modernization of existing buildings through new software and monitoring initiatives.
All of this makes PC&PF a vital and integral department in delivering world class cancer care to patients.
Ideal candidate will have experience in Electrical, Pneumatic & HVAC Systems assisting in the troubleshooting of BAS, alarms, CARFs, computer systems and HVAC systems. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 11pm-7:30am. The salary range is $57,500 - $72,000 - $86,500.

- Maintain, repair and troubleshoot operations on live circuits and in operating controls enclosures. May install, troubleshoot and repair 120, 208, 240 and 480 volt controls and equipment per NEC guidelines.
- Read, interpret, and analyze electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and HVAC schematics, one-line diagrams and control sequence of operations. Investigates outages.
- Apply craftsmanship in practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of electronic technician trade.
- Use tools and calibrating instruments such as thermocouple calibrator, resistance temperature detector calibrator, voltage/current generator, multimeters, and decade resistance box.
- Maintain and repair typical building electronic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
- Install, calibrate, and check assigned systems using manual dexterity, hand tools, and visual ability.
- Examine and test mechanisms and circuitry for defects. Run conduit, pull wire, and install circuits for electrically powered units.
- Maintain/repair/calibrate HVAC systems to include air handling units, fan coil units, terminal boxes, dampers, thermostats, sensors, control valves, and associated HVAC equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment in or out of control systems, and replace or repair defective components.
- Requisition material. Ability to program microprocessors for initial commissioning and tune operating controls.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job. Other duties as assigned.
- Respond to customer calls and Emergency responses; provide customer services and document actions taken on work orders with complete information including labor hours and materials used.
