This position involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and executing complex repairs to meet manufacturer standards. The technician will work closely with customers and team members to provide expert advice and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a formal motorcycle or powersports technician training program or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience working as a motorcycle or powersports technician with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Certification from the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) or equivalent.
- Experience with a wide range of powersports vehicles including ATVs, Motorcycles and personal watercraft.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers.
- Familiarity with manufacturer-specific diagnostic software and tools.
- 5 plus years experience in the powersports industry
- Honda, Yamaha and Polaris certification
- Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical and electrical problems on motorcycles and powersports vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake adjustments, tire replacements, and fluid checks.
- Repair or replace defective parts including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair status and recommendations to customers and management.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines during all repair and maintenance activities.
The required skills enable the technician to accurately diagnose and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring vehicles operate safely and efficiently. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment is essential for troubleshooting and performing maintenance tasks effectively. Strong mechanical aptitude combined with attention to detail helps in identifying subtle issues that could impact vehicle performance.
