We have an exciting opportunity for an Instrument/Electrical Technician II join our team with the Department.
This is a JETS II CBA position with Amentum.
The Instrument/Electrical Technician II will:
Responsibilities- Plan, Layout, and install electrical and instrumentation wires to facility equipment per engineering work orders and schematics.
- Perform electrical and instrumentation buildup and installations in compliance with National Electric Code and NASA standard guidelines.
- Plan, Layout, assemble and install cable tray or conduit to facility equipment per engineering work orders.
- Perform buildup of power distribution or data and control system panels per engineering work orders and schematics.
- Perform buildup of cable assemblies from engineering work orders and electrical schematics.
- Use basic machine shop tools such as drill presses, band saws, sheet metal brakes, belt sanders, or shears to support facility or test stand buildups.
- Disassemble and reassemble motors, generators, switch gear, transfer switches and other similar equipment during buildup or troubleshooting activities.
- Demonstrate competent use of basic electrical measurement devices (voltage, current, etc.) given an engineering work order and schematics.
- Trace out existing system wiring to verify or update facility drawings.
- Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems using schematics and manufacturer’s documentation.
- Perform elevated work from ladders, scaffolding, raised platforms, man-lifts or other similar raised locations.
- Perform work in confined spaces as required.
- Support test duty stations as required.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
- Required Skills:
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. - General computer and typing skills.
- General knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field or related area.
- Formal National Electrical Code Training.
- Electrical Trade School Training.
- Electrical State License.
