Motorboat Mechanics and Service Technicians (88L) job at U.S. Army. Houston, TX.
Enlist as a Soldier into the United States Army and as a Watercraft Engineer (88L), you’ll supervise or perform maintenance and repairs on Army watercraft and auxiliary equipment on marine vessels to keep them running at all times. You’ll perform daily systems checks, repair and maintain gasoline and diesel engines, troubleshoot and repair watercraft propulsion machinery, and repair and service lift machinery and engine-related electrical systems.
To do this, you’ll train in basic electronics, hydraulics, and shop practices, as well as in engine operation and maintenance. You’ll also train in marine operations, the preventive maintenance of steering systems, and you’ll learn how to inspect and maintain the propellers and staffs. This is not a civilian contractor position.
No experience necessary. Position is entry level.
REQUIREMENTS- A U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a valid Green Card.
- 17 to 34 Years Old.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Meet Tattoo Guidelines.
- No Major Law Violations.
- No Medical Concerns.
- 30 Nationally Recognized Certifications Available.
- 9 weeks of Basic Training.
- 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training.
- 99 ASVAB Score:
Mechanical Maintenance (MM).
