- Inspect work areas to determine the type of work required, materials, and equipment to be used.
- Direct workers in projects such as construction of ditches, roadways, and grading drainage areas.
- Operate equipment such as bulldozers and graders; train workers in equipment operation.
- Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations.
- Understand and perform projects according to scope of work.
- Interpret job orders and assign duties to workers.
- Follow MUTCD traffic control standards.
- Visually inspect crew trucks/vehicles regularly.
- Recommend measures to improve production, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in problem-solving.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
- Maintain time and production records.
- Perform activities of supervised workers when necessary.
- Assist skilled laborers and laborers as needed.
- Fuel and maintain equipment.
- Perform non-mechanical tasks with minimal supervision.
- Prepare trucks and materials for jobs.
- Keep trucks and equipment clean.
- Conduct daily visual inspections and weekly written inspections of vehicles.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water; make repairs as needed.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs like changing tires and installing light bulbs or tire chains.
- Secure cargo during transit by positioning blocks and tying ropes.
- Ensure all truck documents (registration, inspection, insurance) are current.
- Follow supervisor directions.
- Perform hand digging and related physical labor jobs.
- Assist in emergencies as responsible.
This position involves working on job sites across multiple states.

Education and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Physical Demands- Must be able to lift/move 50 pounds.
- Continuous standing, walking on uneven surfaces, turning, stooping, kneeling, crouching, speaking, and hearing.
- Exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Potential exposure to wet, humid, cold, or hot conditions.
- Loud noise levels often present.
- Frequent exposure to traffic.
