🛠 What You’ll Do as a Caterpillar Heavy Equipment Mechanic:

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you'll inspect, service, diagnose, and repair Cat diesel‑powered equipment and construction machinery, including:

• Set‑up, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance
• Shop Service:
  Work with mentor technicians in a fully equipped shop
• Field Service:
  Operate from a company‑provided service truck
  , servicing customers at their job sites
• Maintain high‑quality standards and follow all safety procedures
• Must own tools required to perform heavy equipment repairs

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong mechanical understanding of diesel engines
  , electrical
  , and hydraulic systems
• Hands‑on experience with transmissions, track systems, components, and fuel systems
• Previous experience with Caterpillar or competitive earthmoving equipment brands
• Proficient in technical diagnostics and able to use Cat ET (Electronic Technician) or similar systems
• Welding and fabrication experience:
  MIG welding, arc gouging, oxyacetylene torch
• Familiarity with hydraulic pumps, valves, and motors
• Formal training from OEM programs or accredited technical schools
• Experience using diagnostic tools such as Cat ET, Cummins Insite, or competitor platforms
