Position OverviewThe Service Technician will service and troubleshoot access control, IP-based and analog video management systems, and auto-gate equipment. Scope of duties includes troubleshooting and repairing electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary access-controlled door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end video recording devices, wired and wireless networks, and intercom systems. Detail-oriented documentation and communication with customers are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Install cabling, mount equipment, install card readers, door contacts, mag locks, electrified strikes, and integrated systems.
- Troubleshoot cabling, card readers, door contacts, mag locks, electrified strikes, cameras, PLC, intrusion, and integrated systems.
- Functional understanding of low voltage systems, relays, principles of normally closed/normally open, series and parallel wiring.
- General understanding of network topology.
- Use a multi-meter to test for voltage, continuity, and resistance.
- Possess mechanical and computer skills for effective troubleshooting.
- Operate hand tools and equipment necessary for all tasks.
- Document and update work orders and customer records in a timely manner.
- Participate in the on-call rotation.
- High School Graduate, GED or equivalent; certifications preferred.
- At least 18 years of age and a valid TX Driver’s License.
- Five or more years in relevant access control installation, service, and configuration.
- Experience with HID, Mercury, CCTV, and related systems.
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Capacity to work independently and efficiently without compromising quality.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, drive, lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, and ascend/descend ladders and stairs of varying heights with minimal limitation.
- Currently licensed or able to immediately obtain TXDPS Security License.
- Experience with Software House systems.
- Experience with Genetec, Honeywell, Bosch Intrusion/Access Control, DMP intrusion.

Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Field personnel work schedule varies by client needs.
Physical Requirements- Walk, stand, drive, lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat and rain.
- Ascend and descend ladders (6–14 feet) and stairs of varying heights with minimal restrictions.
- Work from a bucket truck as required for installations and maintenance.
