Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy‑duty machinery such as loaders, excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, and other construction or industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience with diesel engines, and the ability to perform both shop and field repairs safely and efficiently.

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on heavy equipment.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on construction and industrial machinery.

• Troubleshoot diesel engines, transmissions, and fuel systems.

• Repair and replace components such as tracks, cylinders, hoses, and hydraulic pumps.

• Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to identify faults and complete repairs.

• Maintain accurate service records and document all work performed.

• Weld or fabricate parts as needed for equipment repair.

• Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards.

• Travel to job sites for field repairs and maintenance when required.

• Communicate with supervisors and operators to coordinate equipment availability and repair schedules.

• Required:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and mechanical tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
