A Technician is involved with the installation, programming, testing, field service, and training of Engineered Fire Alarm Systems.

Responsibilities
  • Review job information on new jobs.
  • Confirm scope of work and relay changes to the Project Manager.
  • Review location of critical equipment (control panels, annunciators, etc.).
  • Obtain and read the specifications thoroughly.
  • Confirm safety requirements and documentation required by contractor.
  • Determine and maintain project scheduling, daily check‑in with contractor on‑site.
  • Plan ahead, estimate and request materials for installation a week in advance.
  • Coordinate with PM and job‑site contractor for safe storage of equipment.
  • Supervise and install system in a quality manner, maintain as‑built drawings.
  • Perform programming, 100% pre‑test, and final test with AHJ and/or customer.
  • Certify system as required by the State of Texas and local AHJ.
  • Assist PM with tracking labor and equipment costs, returned equipment credit, and log bad equipment per job.
  • Keep jobsite tools and equipment secure; maintain accurate tool list.
  • Maintain a clean vehicle at all times and coordinate monthly truck audits.
  • Maintain good relationships with contractors and customers, bring job under budget, and look for ways to improve efficacy and profit margin.
Technical Requirements
  • Working knowledge of general industrial controls.
  • Knowledge of industry manufacturers, distributors, and products.
  • Proficient in computer programs:
    Windows & Microsoft.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Proficient in NFPA 72, 101, building codes, and other applicable industry codes.
  • State of Texas Fire Alarm Technician’s License.
  • State of Texas Class A Extinguisher License.
Required Licenses / Certifications
  • Fire Alarm License.
  • FEL‑A License.
  • Valid driver’s license with outstanding driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
