Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Responsible for diagnosing problems and performing complex and/or major mechanical, electrical, power generation equipment repairs, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs at the customer’s place of business or on customer's field locations. Equipment includes power generation equipment, refractory units, coil tubing units, pumping units, and other oil field equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose all problems with customer's equipment.
- Identify and order parts necessary to complete repairs and routine maintenance.
- Perform complex and/or major repairs on customer's equipment. Replace parts and equipment as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment according to established guidelines and schedules.
- Complete all work orders and time sheets in a legible, accurate, and timely manner.
- Assist lower-level Technicians in completing work assignments as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or General Education (GED) and three to seven years related experience.

- Must be able to work independently. Experience with inverters (VFDs), batteries, load banks is a plus.
- Must be organized and able to take ownership of work areas.
- Use a variety of electronic test equipment including DMMs, Insulation tester up to 15kv, Hi-pot tester up to 34kv, thermo imaging cameras, sound meters, gas detectors, laser tachometers, multichannel data acquisition systems.
- Use a variety of hand, power, and various precision measurement tools.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required production testing.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Good understanding of diesel and gas engines and generator technology.
- Ability to multitask and complete all work orders and time sheets in a legible, accurate, and timely manner.
- Dependable and able to work independently.
Computer Skills
Basic computer navigation and utilization skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
Certificates & Licenses
Technical certification in automotive, lift truck, heavy equipment, and/or diesel engine repair required.
Other Requirements
Ability to utilize laptop computers and portable diagnostic tools required.
Other preferred Software skills:
CAT-ET, MTU Diasys, Detroit DDDL, Danfoss plus 1 service tool, Deep sea electronics, Danfoss VLT, LabVIEW, ACSELERATOR QUIKESET. Direct knowledge of all these software is not required. Will be trained in the use of diagnostic software.
