Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer - Unarmed Site Patrol in Houston, TX
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with tenants, guests, and onsite teams, document activity, and respond to alarms and access control needs as they arise.

- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the commercial property, including common areas, parking areas, and perimeter, noting unusual activity and reporting concerns.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and service requests in a calm, problem-solving manner; contact site management and/or local emergency services as directed by post orders.
- Complete routine access control and visitor management duties as assigned, such as monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and directing guests to the appropriate areas.
- Prepare clear, timely documentation including daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs; communicate observations and follow-up needs to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
- Have 2+ years of security experience.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
- Have customer service experience preferred.
- Have alarm panel experience preferred.
- Have access control and/or badge experience preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
