Public Safety Officers are essential to maintaining security and supporting the mission of MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of relevant work experience, and a valid Texas driver's license. Preferred qualifications include International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment under pressure, and a commitment to public safety.
Minimum $18.00 - Midpoint $20.54 - Maximum $23.08 per hour based on a 40-hour work week. This is a full-time position with rotating shifts that may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The primary work location is the MD Anderson Cancer Center campus in the Texas Medical Center.

- Provide information, directions, and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff.
- Patrol campus by vehicle and on foot to monitor for suspicious activity and safety hazards.
- Enforce institutional and parking regulations; issue permits and citations as needed.
- Serve as a Campus Security Authority in compliance with the Clery Act.
- Respond to emergencies and maintain calm, professional judgment under pressure.
- Support institutional policies and ensure a safe environment for all individuals on campus.
