The George Calin laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join a multidisciplinary research program focused on uncovering novel RNA-based mechanisms that drive hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and translating these discoveries into therapeutic strategies. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to work at the interface of RNA biology, cancer genomics, and therapeutic development within a collaborative and innovation-driven environment.
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES RoleThe postdoctoral fellow will contribute to projects that may focus on the understanding and correct practice of techniques related to the roles of non-coding RNAs in cancer:
- Clinical and Database Analyses:
Evaluate the expression of miR-485-3p and VPS
45 and their prognostic significance using TCGA datasets and clinical samples. - Functional Analyses:
Conduct gain- and loss-of-function experiments of miR-485-3p and VPS
45 in HCC cell lines. - Validate tumorigenic potential using mouse models.
- Comprehensive RNA Network Analysis:
Utilize large-scale miRNA‑seq and CLIP‑seq datasets at the Calin lab to identify novel RNA interaction networks in HCC. - Functionally validate promising candidates and confirm their clinical relevance in human tissues and circulating miRNAs.
