A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Interventional Radiology to perform research on novel technologies in the field of interventional oncology procedures. The laboratory has a strong focus on translational and clinical research in image-guided loco-regional treatments such as thermal ablation for hepatic malignancies.
Learning ObjectivesThe primary research focus will be to develop and evaluate novel image-processing methods for applications in loco-regional therapies for patients with liver cancer. The post‑doctoral fellow will be working in a multi‑disciplinary team with expertise in interventional radiology, AI/Machine Learning, image‑processing, and radiomics. The fellow will gain knowledge and expertise in all of these areas and learn to apply these technologies to clinical problems.
EligibilityRequirements
- An individual holding or soon to be obtained Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in an appropriate field who is seeking a temporary appointment, under the supervision of a faculty mentor, involving full‑time laboratory‑based research or scholarship in preparation for an academic or research career as an independent investigator.
- Programming experience in Python is a must.
- Experience with image‑processing frameworks for cross‑sectional imaging such as ITK, training of AI models (e.g. nnUNet), and basic statistical knowledge are advantageous.
MD Anderson offers full‑time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
