Overview
A Postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Experimental Therapeutics, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, United States. This position reports to Dr. Sara Zanivan, Associate Professor in the Department of Experimental Therapeutics and Scientific Director of the Proteomics Core.
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate the metabolic regulation of the immune microenvironment in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), with a focus on the role and mechanisms by which cancer-associated fibroblasts drive immunosuppression. The project will leverage advanced technologies, including spatial mass spectrometry-based proteomics. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, preparing manuscripts, and actively participating in lab meetings, journal clubs, and seminars.
Learning objectives: The Postdoctoral Fellow s primary research focus is to help the PI merge mechanistic insights with the translational objectives of experimental therapeutics and to address unmet clinical needs in ovarian cancer. The Fellow will train, learn, and study design, data analysis, and manuscript writing. All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities- Design and conduct experiments related to metabolic regulation of the immune microenvironment in epithelial ovarian cancer.
- Analyze data, prepare manuscripts, and actively participate in lab meetings, journal clubs, and seminars.
- Collaborate with the PI to merge mechanistic insights with translational objectives in experimental therapeutics.
- PhD degree in cancer biology, metabolism, immunology, or related fields with less than 2 years of postdoctoral experience.
- Experience with rodent studies and spatial omic technologies is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Proven track record of publications and excellent written and oral communication skills.
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000, depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience. Offsite work arrangements are subject to approval and may be modified based on business needs, performance considerations, or regulatory requirements.
Stipend- Stipend support will follow the NIH Kirschstein-NRSA stipend levels for the appropriate PGY.
