Position Summary:

Responsible for driving business growth by managing and developing both warm and cold leads by performing the following duties.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify, target and cultivate relationships with key leads/prospects for the purpose of selling National Cortina/Borges National line of products and opening new customers; utilize a Team Based Approach in every aspect of the sales process.
  • Identify, target and cultivate relationships with existing customers including but limited to Industrial, Retail and Food service segments for the purpose of selling National Cortina/Borges National line of products.
  • Become adept at selling National Cortina’s strengths and capabilities depending on the type of customer and opportunity.
  • Complete weekly market recap; monthly call tracker, monthly Top 20 targets, monthly action items, and any other reports to Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
  • To consistently focus sales efforts on placing and securing New Items within our existing customer base; to help successfully launch any/all new items introduced by the company
  • Create, maintain, and update pricing for new and expired contracts. Pricing should maintain minimum margin requirements.
  • Schedule consistent and sustained in-person visits with existing customers, and key leads and prospects, in an effort to build or further personal relationships. Attend and represent National Cortina at industry trade shows as needed. Travel expectations are up to 50%.
  • Consult with the client’s Purchasing and/or R&D departments regarding their specifications. Present options to accounts such as country of origin, container size etc. and other alternatives that might alter price, and availability
  • Forecast future customer opportunities, and monitor ongoing business on a continual basis, and coordinate necessary product needs with our culinary department.
  • Coordinate with the Account Management rep assigned to accounts to ensure accurate and prompt communication about customer changes, requests, issues/problems, etc. Foster a team-based approach to the sales cycle.
  • Constantly gain feedback from customer base on National Cortina’s overall performance for continuous process improvement.
  • Attends and works distributor food shows.
  • Performs any other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.

Required Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • Some prior experience in food sales is definitely a plus.

    Candidates that can identify potential customers make better salespeople for your team. Sales staff with top prospecting skills generate more revenue for businesses.

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to work at a desk with a computer and correspond on the phone and using other communication platforms.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, bump cap, skid-resistant leather shoes, etc.)
