Position Overview

The District Sales Manager is a field-based sales role responsible for driving brand execution, sales performance, and profitable growth across assigned On Premise accounts. This highly visible position leads local market engagement, distributor alignment, and execution of company goals through collaborative planning and high-impact field activity. As the key point of contact in the territory, the District Manager plays a pivotal role in achieving volume, distribution, and visibility targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key On-Premise accounts.
  • Target and develop new business accounts, growing brand presence, and volume.
  • Achieve territory goals and objectives in alignment with annual business plans.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Manager to ensure goal clarity and course corrections as needed.
  • Conduct ride-alongs with distributor teams to support sales initiatives and enhance product knowledge.
  • Provide ongoing training and education to distributor reps via sales meetings, GSMs, market blitzes, and surveys.
  • Oversee inventory, rotation, vintages, and purchasing execution at key accounts.
  • Deliver timely updates to the Regional Manager on market trends, program progress, and sales challenges.
  • Plan and execute Supplier Market Visits including tastings, events, and business reviews.
  • Proactively identify pricing or programming opportunities to drive territory growth.
  • Manage personal T&E budget and ensure ROI-focused field execution.
  • Coordinate and lead tastings and staff trainings to drive consumer engagement, enhance frontline brand knowledge, and increase velocity at key accounts.
  • Responsible for Regional On-Premise Chains in territory and developing presentations and execution plans with appropriate distributor managers.
  • Holds quarterly/tertile reviews with local distributor leads and collaborates with DM counterpart in territory.

  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication, including presenting to large audiences.
  • Independence & Accountability: Self-starter who thrives in a remote, high-performance culture.
  • Adaptability: Ability to shift priorities and respond quickly to changing market conditions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of alcohol beverage sales experience in distributor or supplier roles.
  • Existing market relationships a plus.
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategies and merchandising execution.
  • Experience with restaurant beverage program operations preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and results-driven with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and travel 40–60% of the week, including some weekends.
