Senior Specialty Representative (Houston Medical Center)

The Senior Specialty Representative will be the primary customer contact in the Houston Medical Center territory, providing clinical knowledge of Amgen products to medical professionals and managing the complex payer environment.

What You Will Do

In this role you will provide comprehensive product knowledge, deliver tailored sales messages, conduct educational programs, manage accounts, and develop territory plans.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain current, comprehensive knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate utilization.
  • Act as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets through both in-person and virtual engagement.
  • Develop relationships to service and manage accounts, customizing discussions and customer interactions based on an understanding of customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving/triage reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
  • Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and seek to learn and grow as a Senior Specialty Representative.

What We Expect Of You Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related.
  • or Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related.
  • or High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related.
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than 3 years of sales, marketing, and/or clinical experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, or healthcare service industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in specialties such as oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases, including knowledge of related diseases and treatments.
  • Advanced influencing and relationship‑building skills with a focus on sales outcomes.
  • Local market knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
  • Adaptability with core competencies:

    Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge;
    Communicating with Impact;
    Driving for Results; and Cultivating Internal and External Relationships.
What You Can Expect Of Us

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $121,379 – $149,742. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
